Decide DeKalb is DeKalb County, Georgia’s economic development authority, working to attract, expand, and retain businesses while encouraging capital investment, job growth, and long-term sustainability across its target industries and entertainment sector.
I partnered with its Marketing and Economic Development teams to redesign the organization’s website. The new experience brought its updated brand to life and more clearly communicated the development authority’s role, services, and impact for businesses, partners, and the broader community.
Design & Features
As part of the redesign, we adapted Decide DeKalb’s new visual language for digital use and expanded its illustration library to bring the same vibrant, welcoming character to the website.
A central challenge was organizing the Authority’s resources and services in a way that made them easy to find and understand. Through careful information architecture and content development, we consolidated these offerings into four clear focus areas within the site’s primary navigation. Each landing page also includes a widget with a direct point of contact, connecting users with the team member best equipped to support their needs.
One of many benefits available to DeKalb County residents was a downpayment assistance program. To better promote and inform residents about this benefit, we developed an animated video to walk users through the program and using the eligibility form on the website.
